heatAs students and teachers began their 2014-2015 school year last week, here in Central Florida we endured the hottest weather we’ve seen in three years. Little did I know as I sat in my cool office at work, that some students and teachers that attend Dr Phillips High School were sweltering in the heat due to broken air conditioning units in parts of the school. Although the school tried to move the students to rooms with air conditioning, there was a shortage of space and some had to try to deal for days in the heat. The maintenance crews were working round the clock and over the weekend to try and resolve the problem. I haven’t heard as of yet if the air conditioning issues were resolved once and for all, but I certainly hope so. What a way to start the new school year! And as I understand it, Dr Phillips High School is just one of several schools dealing with broken air conditioning. Good luck to you all!
